A Day in the Life of an HVAC Tech

Morning Routine

My day starts early, around 6 AM. After a quick breakfast, I head to the company office to grab my work orders and supplies for the day. As an HVAC technician for Milwaukie Heating & Cooling, my job is to keep homes and businesses in the Clackamas, Happy Valley, and West Linn areas comfortable all year round.

First Stop: AC Company Clackamas, OR

My first job of the day is a routine maintenance check for a local cooling system at a commercial property in Clackamas. I arrive on site and perform a thorough inspection of the unit, checking for any potential issues and making sure it’s running efficiently. After a few adjustments and a filter change, the system is good to go for another season.

HVAC Installation Happy Valley, OR

  1. Next up is a new HVAC installation at a residential home in Happy Valley. These jobs can be physically demanding, but I find them incredibly rewarding.
  2. I carefully follow the manufacturer’s instructions and local building codes to ensure a safe and proper installation.
  3. Once the system is in place, I run extensive tests to verify its operation and make any necessary adjustments.
  4. Before leaving, I walk the homeowners through the system’s features and answer any questions they may have.

Afternoon Service Call: HVAC Company West Linn, OR

After a quick lunch break, I head over to West Linn to address a service call for a malfunctioning furnace. Upon arrival, I troubleshoot the issue and identify a faulty component that needs to be replaced. Fortunately, I have the necessary part in my van, so I can make the repair on the spot. Within a couple of hours, the homeowners have a warm, cozy house again.

Wrapping Up the Day

As the evening approaches, I make my way back to the office to restock my supplies and file paperwork for the day’s jobs. It’s been a busy but fulfilling day, and I take pride in knowing that I’ve helped keep countless people comfortable in their homes and workplaces. Tomorrow, I’ll do it all over again, ready to tackle whatever HVAC challenges come my way.
